Pat Gaines worked 22 years in the Lincoln County Courthouse in Oklahoma and retired in 2003 after running the County Election Board for many years. She taught adult Sunday school classes at the Sparks First Baptist Church for nearly forty years. She loved to read, teach the Bible, watch movies, paint (on any surface she could find), sew, cook, work in various arts and crafts, and conduct ancestry research. Pat and her husband Jerry had two children and three grandchildren.

Publications include the non-fiction historical biography THE JOURNAL OF AMOS HANNAH and the children's picture book O. O. OCTOPUS.
