ARTS & CRAFTS

Pat loved crafts and artwork of all kinds. She did leather tooling for sixty plus years. Dabbled in acrylic painting. Made costume jewelry. Could sew anything on a sewing machine; really, anything. Did all kinds of home crafts. Created unique sculptures using beads and wire. Painted scenes on feathers and on rocks. Below are some examples of her crafts. Enjoy!

BEAD & WIRE ART

Below are just three of the main bead and wire art pieces created by Pat Gaines. She used wire, glass beads, stone beads, plastic beads, and whatever else struck inspiration to create lovely 3-D artwork pieces. The purple wire art dragon, made with glass and plastic beads, measures about 4" deep x 4" high x 6" long. The wire art horned toad, made with genuine stone beads, measures about 3" high x 5" long. The bumblebee, which measures about 5" wide at the wings by 5" long, was made with a mixture of materials, including glass and plastic beads and a fuzzy cat toy to make the fur on the body. PAINTED ROCKS

Below is a selection of rock art painted by Pat Gaines. She painted well over a hundred of these, selling a few here and there, making others as presents for people. Unfortunately, at least two dozen of these last painted rocks were stolen by the staff at the assisted living facility where she last lived.

PAINTED FEATHERS

Below is a pot filled with feathers painted with acrylic by Pat Gaines. Tragically, the painted feathers shown in this little cup were stolen by staff at the assisted living facility where she last lived.
